• Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve - Land

The Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve – with its mountain range, coastal plains and wetlands – is the first of six South African biospheres to be registered with UNESCO. With about 1600 plant species, the reserve contains a floral diversity per unit area that is greater than anywhere else in the world. The area is particularly rich in fynbos – the native flora of the Cape Peninsula.
